The company "Medical Education Technology" Ltd. was founded in Bulgaria in 2019 for the development and production of medical equipment.
In 2020, due to the outbreak of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, the company has come to grips with the development of the Air Disinfection Module. At that time, in Bulgaria, as well as throughout Europe, the were no effective and at the same time compact and inexpensive air cleaners on the market. The goal of our company was to create a device that will be effective for rooms up to 100 m2, inexpensive, safe and portable. With a combination of these characteristics, the Module can be used in almost all premises from medical wards to apartments and offices. Sufficient experience in technological development and organization of assembly production, as well as analysis of existing devices on the market allowed Medical Education Technology specialists to quickly develop the UV-V100 air cleaner.
The principle of operation of the UV-V100 Air Disinfection Module is based on air recirculation in the room through the device body, in which the UV-C UV lamp is installed, which destroys the DNA of viruses (including coronavirus), bacteria and mold spores. The device uses UV-C radiation of a certain wave to eliminate the generation of ozone, which allows the air purifier to be used with greater safety and without additional restrictions.
The first prototype of the Air Disinfection Module, which can be used in the presence of people was manufactured in our factory in June 2020.
The design of the UV-V100 air cleaner allows it to be used either as a stand-alone device or built into an internal ventilation system.
In July 2020. The UV-V100 air disinfection module has undergone an efficiency study at the European Laboratory of the Bulgarian Ministry of Health. According to the results of the study, a protocol was issued, which indicated that in a room of 35 m2 for 15 minutes of operation of the device, the total number of microorganisms and mold spores decreases 10 times. At the same time, specially designed protective grilles of the Module prevent the release of ultraviolet radiation from the device, which is also confirmed by the Protocol of the laboratory of the Ministry of Health of Bulgaria.
In 2021 in cooperation with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, a study was carried out, which showed that the device kills SARS viruses (the family of which includes the Covid-19 virus). The research results are confirmed by the BAN Protocol.
The device is a round plastic case with an ultraviolet lamp of a certain radiation spectrum installed inside, excluding the generation of ozone. The inner surface of the case has a mirrored surface that protects the case from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation and, due to re-reflection inside, enhances the disinfecting effect. A powerful fan used in professional ventilation systems (with the effect of pressure build-up) allows for a short period of time to recirculate indoor air up to 100m2. Protective grilles specially designed for this device make the device safe for use in the presence of people, animals and plants. The device consumes less than 40W is easy to install (fasteners included), does not require additional maintenance during operation, since it does not have filter elements.
